Schöck and GIP intensify collaboration. A partnership in façade expertise.

Baden-Baden, Germany – Two specialists, one goal: Schöck Bauteile GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of solutions for the reduction of thermal bridges, and GIP GmbH, Braunschweig, experts in technical detail planning and implementation of rain cladding façades, entered into a cooperative agreement. With retroactive effect from January 1, 2019, Schöck acquired a 25.1% stake in GIP GmbH.

Knowing about suitable façade substructure systems, and their attachment without thermal bridges, is a challenge faced by architects, structural engineers and façade builders alike. For this reason, the two companies Schöck and GIP want to join forces to develop and jointly market holistic solutions for both national and international customers.

Façade design is a subject that will continue to be of great importance in the future. Rain cladding façades are regarded as sustainably efficient façade systems which are of high technical quality. In addition to the excellent structural and physical properties, façade systems offer almost unlimited architectural design options. GIP has earned a good reputation in this sector over the past 15 years through numerous projects and has the necessary façade expertise to be able to master complex technical and visual challenges in collaboration with their project partners.

“Schöck Isolink is the only thermally isolating attachment made of flame-retardant glass fibre reinforced composite which is approved by building regulation authorities. Because of this, it is the perfect complement to our metal façade substructures, which we custom design in our façade competence centre in Braunschweig and then deliver to the construction site as a complete system. Together with the Schöck sales team, we want to actively market our entire product range in the future, and further strengthen our market position with the help of our strong partner,” states Olaf Sippel, Managing Partner at GIP GmbH.

Alfons Hörmann, Chairman of the Schöck Bauteile GmbH Management Board, elaborates: “We look forward to the new partnership with façade specialist GIP. This will add the necessary consulting expertise for expanding our flagship product, Isolink. Together we want to offer system solutions to the growing façade market which are energy-efficient, easy to implement structurally, and at the same time, economically attractive. Through our new partnership, we want to tap into both national and international markets step by step.”.

The first joint projects have already been successfully implemented in Stockholm and in various regions of Germany.
